Serato DJ Pro is supposed to be compatible with High Sierra operating system according to their website. It’s update time for Serato DJ again. My next step is to get the Denon DJ DS1 and hope for the best.
#SERATO DJ EL CAPITAN DRIVER#
Is it because I don’t have the Conectiv driver installed? Is this ultimately a software-hardware compatibility issue? Why is this still happening? I’m utterly perplexed. I tried both sides of the control vinyls as well. All the wires and switches were connected per the manual. I tried all the settings for the buffer/latency options as well as sample rate with no fix. The signal graph is still showing shaky green circles with spots of yellows. Again, the right channel sounds “wobbly” from the pitch moving up and down by itself. The signal quality on both channels are not that crisp and responsive compared to VirtualDJ. The newest version of Mixxx was also not responding well. Although the software recognized Conectiv for the sound card, it was still having problems with one channel. I also installed and tried Virtual DJ again with the same issues as before.

I was not able to install any drivers for it on the new lap top. I suppose now it’s Conectiv that is causing the poor signal quality from one channel. This should be plenty of computing power for a simple Digital Vinyl System but something is not quite right. The machine has a 7th generation intel i7 processor with 16 gigs of memory and about 500 gigs of storage. I got a new MacBook Pro with High Sierra. I’ll probably have to get a new laptop darn it. I’m still going to try out the preamp hook up to my MacBook Pro to test if this will work or not since I’ve already ordered it. Although it has an Intel® Core™ i5 CPU, 1.70 GHz processor, it’s not sufficient to use it for a Digital Vinyl System sadly. Lone behold, BOTH channels had good signal quality! Unfortunately, this little machine can’t handle music I’m trying to play and so it will “hick-up” or jump forward in the track almost like it’s “skipping.” Not functional for DJing purposes in other words. Got all the connections to how it should be originally per the manuals. Today I tried out my first generation Windows tablet with Windows 10 installed.

The guy said the operating system that I have is fine but my processor would give me issues like software crashes/interruptions. I’ve also contacted Denon DJ technical support over the phone. Other versions are available too but I don’t know if these version will work I’m waiting for another response. I could try version 1.7.8 but it’s not supported for El Capitan. I’ve contacted Serato help desk asking which version of Serato DJ I should use and they said 2.0 is not compatible.

The processor is a Intel Core 2 Duo which is most likely why the computer is having trouble processing the sound from my hardware. It’s a mid-2009 version with Snow Leopard (OSX 10.8?).

It’s the Processor!!! I don’t know why it’s causing me problems now when it was fine before but I suspect it’s because I’ve upgraded to El Capitan. I believe I know what my problem is regarding the signal issue.
